Windshield Protection Film in New Hampshire

Windshield replacement used to be a nuisance. On a modern vehicle with cameras and sensors mounted behind the glass, it is a significant bill, because the ADAS system has to be recalibrated after the replacement. Meanwhile the windshield takes the highest volume of debris of any surface on the car, especially behind a sander in February.
Windshield protection film is an optically clear layer applied to the exterior of the glass. It absorbs the energy of small strikes that would otherwise chip or star the windshield, and it can be replaced when it has taken enough damage. It is the natural companion to paint protection film on a highway commuter, and we frequently install both alongside ceramic window tint on new vehicles.

Common questions
Will windshield film stop every crack?
No. It significantly reduces chip and star damage from small debris, but a large rock at speed can still break glass.
Does it distort vision or affect wipers?
No. It is engineered for optical clarity, and wipers operate normally on it.
How long does it last?
It is a wear item. Depending on your mileage and roads, it is replaced periodically — which is the point.
Can it be applied to a windshield that already has a chip?
A chip should be repaired or the glass replaced first. Film goes over sound glass.
