Heat & Glare Reduction Window Film for NH Homes
The fix for the room that bakes every afternoon and the screen you cannot see at 4pm.
Heat and glare are two different problems that come through the same piece of glass. Heat is infrared energy you feel; glare is visible light bouncing off screens, counters, and light-colored floors. A cheap dark film handles glare and does very little about heat. A properly engineered ceramic film handles both, and that difference is why the room actually feels cooler instead of just looking dimmer.
New Hampshire summers put a hard load on south and west glass, and sunrooms and second floors take the worst of it. We measure the elevation, look at what the room is used for, and pick the film that solves the specific complaint. If you also want the room screened from the street, look at privacy window film, which can be combined with heat rejection in a single product. For a whole-house plan, start at home window tinting.

FAQ
Common questions
How much cooler will the room actually be?
It depends on glass area, orientation, and insulation, but treated rooms commonly feel dramatically more comfortable and hold temperature far better through the afternoon. We do not publish guaranteed numbers because every house is different.
Will the room get dark?
Only if you want it to. Nearly-clear ceramic films block substantial heat while keeping the room bright.
Does it help in winter?
Low-E style films retain some interior heat in winter. Solar control film's biggest win is the cooling season, and it does not make winter meaningfully colder.
Is this better than blinds?
Blinds block heat only after it is already through the glass, and only when closed. Film works all day and keeps the view.
